  SALUTE TO MANUFACTURING AWARDS LUNCHEON DATE CHANGED  

 

    The 2007 South Carolina Salute to Manufacturing Awards luncheon, sponsored by the Silver Crescent Foundation, has been rescheduled to noon May 15, 2007 at the Carolina First Center (formerly Palmetto Expo Center) in Greenville, S.C.

    The South Carolina Salute to Manufacturing luncheon celebrates the vitality of manufacturing and engineering in South Carolina and engages leaders in business, education and government in programs that connect young people to careers in manufacturing, engineering and technology. The program will include presentations of the Silver Crescent Awards as well as scholarships presented to student winners in the South Carolina Design Competition.

     Underscoring the importance of preparing the next generation for success in the workplace, President of the State Technical College System, Dr. Barry Russell will serve as Master of Ceremonies. State Superintendent of Education, Dr. James Rex, has been invited to speak and present student awards.

  SILVER CRESCENT AWARD NOMINATIONS  

 

   Nominations are now being accepted for the Silver Crescent Award for Manufacturing Excellence. Winners are selected based on their commitment to their workforce, contribution to their community and positive impact on the state and regional economy. The honor is awarded to one manufacturer in small, medium and large employer category. Nomination forms may be found online at www.salutetomanufacturing.com/award.asp or by calling 803-657-6183. 

 

    The Silver Crescent Foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to inspiring, supporting and preparing students for success in the workforce.
