     Join South Carolina’s leaders in business, government and education as they celebrate the Palmetto state’s leading edge manufacturers at the 2007 South Carolina Salute to Manufacturing Awards Luncheon, May 15 at the Carolina First Center in Greenville. The program recognizes the importance of manufacturing, technology and engineering in South Carolina’s economy and honors those who provide a positive impact through job creation and economic strength, a strong commitment to the workforce and the desire to better their community. Tickets to the luncheon are $20 each and can be requested online at www.salutetomanufacturing.com.

  Apply Now for Camp Success 2007  

 

South Carolina middle school students are encouraged to apply now for Camp Success 2007. Session one is July 15 - 21 at the University of South Carolina's Swearingen Engineering Center in Columbia. Session two is July 29 - August 4 at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College in Orangeburg. Application packets are available online. At Camp Success, students can expect the unexpected -- and take away inspiration for a lifetime. 

 

  Career & Technology Education Students To Be Recognized  

 

Nominations are being accepted for Technology Champions of 2007. The Technology Champions program, presented by the South Carolina Education and Business Alliance and sponsored by Silver Crescent Foundation, recognizes outstanding high school seniors completing career and technology education programs in the South Carolina public school system. They exemplify dedication, hard work and commitment. The program is designed to inspire other young people to follow suit. Nominations must be submitted by April 16, 2007.
