2008 Silver Crescent Recipients

Small Manufacturing (up to 100 employees)
Floralife, Inc., located in Walterboro, produces chemical products to support the floral industry in post-harvest care, including treatments to protect freshness, wettable florists' foam, agricultural and greenhouse products, and flower food. The company introduced its first fresh flower food in 1938. John Reddy, Finance Comptroller for Floralife was presented the small manufacturing award by John Irion, President & CEO of the South Carolina Manufacturing Extension Partnership (SCMEP).

Medium Manufacturing (101-499 employees)
BorgWarner Torque Transfer Systems, located in Seneca, produces four-wheel drive systems for several major automotive OEMS. Scott Biggers, Production Manager; Sara McIntire, Quality Manager; Max Campbell, Production Coordinator; and Kim Hawthorne, Team Leader were presented the medium manufacturing award by 3rd District Congressman, J. Gresham Barrett.

Large Manufacturing (500+ employees)
Milliken & Company, located in Spartanburg, produces a variety of chemical and textile products, including plastic additives, carpet, performance fabrics and custom-engineered specialty textiles. The company is one of the world's largest privately held textile and chemical manufacturers. Richard Dillard, Director of Public Affairs for Milliken was presented the large manufacturing award by Richard Kizer, Director of Government and Community Relations for Santee Cooper.
